Bellas described features such as fully enclosed fencing, wide perimeter paths, sensory activity zones (sand, water, musical play), quiet 'cozy' retreats to avoid sensory overload, and communication boards for nonverbal children. She said construction is planned for the current year and thanked the Friends of Sailor Bar steering committee and named donors in the audience.
Supervisors expressed broad support, noting personal connections to families with children who would benefit and urging further community programming such as nature education at Sailor Bar. The board moved to accept the donation and publicly recognized donors and volunteers.
