The meeting included ceremonial recognitions: the board commended Saint Mary’s High School’s football team for winning the CIF Division II state championship and honored head coach Tony Franks as Stockton’s first Cal-High Sports State Coach of the Year. A proclamation designating Jan. 16, 2026, as Religious Freedom Day in San Joaquin County was presented and accepted by representatives of the People of Christ Missionary Baptist Church.
Representatives from Congressman Adam Gray’s office and area mayors offered congratulations to the new chair and to the outgoing chair. The board’s ceremonial business concluded with photos and short remarks.
