West Central Community Action asks Crawford County for $4,000 to support local programs

Wendy Mueller of West Central Community Action joined the board by Zoom and asked the supervisors to fund the agency at the same level as last year: $4,000. She summarized services the agency provided in Crawford County in fiscal year 2025: 344 households served (764 individuals), two Head Start classrooms serving 26 children, 16 Early Head Start participants, 36 children participating in CACFP, and LIHEAP assistance to 337 households totaling roughly $193,000. Mueller said program dollars directed to local vendors equaled about $971,000 and that West Central provided over $1.1 million in services to county residents in FY25.
Mueller thanked board member Jean for serving on the agency's board and answered a brief series of questions from supervisors. No vote or funding decision was made at the meeting; the board will consider the request during budget or community-support discussions.
