County renews Peter Duffy contract for health‑department data services (not to exceed $6,300/month)

The St. Joseph County Board of Commissioners on Jan. 13 approved a renewal of a services agreement with contractor Peter Duffy to support data collection, reporting and database tools used across the county Department of Health.
Mike Bridal, director of operations for the Department of Health, told commissioners the county has worked with Duffy for about five years and the contractor’s work has expanded from a primary focus on the care unit to supporting most department functions, including nursing, environmental and administrative units. Bridal said the systems help the department report to state and federal agencies, including the Indiana Department of Health and federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and support funding reporting such as Health First Indiana.
A commissioner asked whether the $6,300 per month figure was a set amount or a not‑to‑exceed amount; Bridal said it is not to exceed. The board moved and seconded the renewal and recorded ayes to approve the services agreement.
