The Stamford Planning Board voted unanimously on May 20 to approve a referral for ZBA application 11/2025, which requests several setback variances to renovate a corner-lot single-family house at 25 Carol Street and add a second story.
Staff described the house as a 1.5-story cape-style dwelling built around 1925 that is in significant disrepair and said the application seeks to improve the property without expanding its existing footprint. The requested variances included reduced front-yard and street-center setbacks in several locations.
With no applicant present, board members noted the renovation would improve the property and voted in favor of the referral. The file will move forward to the Board of Zoning Appeals for final determination.
