The Stamford Planning Board on April 8 unanimously approved a short‑term sublease of 138 Stillwater Avenue from Optimus Healthcare Inc. to host the city’s health clinic while repairs are completed at the Latham Wider Center.
Jody Bishop Pollan of the health department told the board the location is ready for Department of Public Health inspection and licensing, and that the arrangement is flexible. "But it is month to month, so we can leave at any time," she said, describing the site as equipped with needed medical equipment and ready for clinic operations.
Board members asked whether the sublease requires any new capital purchases; Pollan said the space includes the equipment the clinic needs and staff can re‑use items from their existing clinic. The board was also told lease costs will be reimbursed through the city’s insurance claim related to the Latham Wider Center water damage.
Bill Levin moved to authorize the sublease; Ravi Subramanian seconded the motion, and the board carried the item unanimously.
The authorization allows the health department to occupy the site while the Latham Wider Center undergoes repairs. No further conditions were recorded in the Planning Board discussion.
