The Yavapai County Board of Supervisors voted Sept. 3 to award a chip‑seal/overlay contract to Earth Resources Corporation for $1,552,274 to repair and rehabilitate roads in District 2, including portions of Central Avenue, Main Street and the full stretch of Stagecoach Trail through Cordes Lakes.
Public Works Director Roger McCormack said the project was bid and received three responses; the low bid from Earth Resources was recommended. "The low bid was Earth Resources Corporation at $1,552,274," McCormack told the board, explaining the scope: a combination of rubberized chip seal and targeted asphalt overlays to address crack propagation.
Supervisor Jenkins, whose district includes the project area, expressed support for continued road maintenance. The board moved, seconded and recorded affirmative votes from supervisors present; the motion passed and the contract award was approved.
McCormack noted the bid prices were close and reiterated the project’s geographic limits and surfacing approach. No motions to amend the award were offered; staff will proceed with contract administration and scheduling.
