Morgan Hill residents press Erie council to build promised neighborhood park
Summary
A Morgan Hill resident told the Erie Town Council the neighborhood was promised a central park during home sales, and urged officials to prioritize converting the undeveloped open space—now weeds and "goat heads"—into a usable park for roughly 500 homes and over 700 children.

Jeff Miller, a Morgan Hill resident, urged the Erie Town Council on Jan. 28 to prioritize development of a central park in his neighborhood, telling councilors the site promised by the developer remains undeveloped and unusable.
"There's about 500 homes, just over 700 kids," Miller said, noting a neighborhood poll in which 78% of respondents reported children at home and about 40% said they would consider moving if a park isn't built for their children. Miller described the parcel as currently "just weeds and goat heads," and said residents want the town to make it usable open space.
Mayor Moore thanked Miller and said the matter remains "on our radar." No formal action was taken at the meeting; Miller spoke during the public-comment period for non-agenda items.
The comment adds local pressure to a long-running development and park-delivery issue in Morgan Hill. Council members did not take a vote or set a follow-up timeline during the meeting; residents seeking a formal response may pursue future agenda placement or contact town staff.
