Local business owner urges Arlington to fix crowded sports-field reservation system

Tyler Rundle, a local business owner, told the Arlington City Council during the public-comment period that athletes and community groups are experiencing limited access to city sports fields after a transition to a new online reservation portal.
“I only need to ask is if I could be of help to try to maybe find some corporate sponsors to help,” Rundle said, adding that field availability has become insufficient since the new system rolled out.
The mayor responded that staff would investigate possible solutions and noted the city is exploring potential grants for lighting and other improvements. “We’ll look into that and check into it,” the mayor said.
Rundle gave his address as 16410 Smoky Point Boulevard and said he has played on local fields growing up; he urged the council to consider partnerships or sponsorships to increase field capacity.
