Forestry board to align bylaws with municipal code; board discusses outreach and CSU Extension role

The mismatch affects term counting and voting powers; members agreed the bylaws should be updated to match the code and that any changes that must land in the municipal code would go to city council for adoption.
Members also discussed the board’s role beyond licensing — including public outreach and whether the CSU Extension horticulture position should be made permanent or adjusted. Staff offered to convert the code text into an editable Word document and circulate it for members to read and flag changes.
No formal changes were adopted at the meeting. Staff will circulate the revised bylaws text and schedule a follow-up discussion so the board can decide which edits to send to council.
