The San Juan County Commission moved into a Board of Equalization hearing on Jan. 20 to consider assessment adjustments and low-income abatement requests that had not met filing deadlines.
Lyman summarized that the hearing officer reviewed the applications and approved abatements at reduced values for a small group of individuals and presented cleanup items. One parcel owned by the health district had been returned to the assessor for review and was brought to the commission for a determination.
A commissioner moved to approve the Board of Equalization adjustments and low-income abatement adjustments; another commissioner seconded the motion and the commission approved by voice vote. The board later moved to exit the BOE hearing by motion and returned to regular session.
