Northborough DEIB committee elects chair and vice chair, approves minutes and sets January meeting

The Town of Northborough Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging Committee elected new officers and handled routine administrative business during its remote meeting.
Virginia Sims George nominated Mary Alexandra to serve as chair; Mary Alexandra accepted the nomination. The committee approved that appointment by roll call. Cynthia Moore was nominated and elected vice chair, and members agreed staff (Angie) will serve the committee’s posting and minutes functions commonly associated with a clerk role.
The committee unanimously approved the Oct. 21 meeting minutes by roll call. Members discussed agenda planning and agreed the chair-designate will coordinate with staff on deadlines in December to ensure agendas are posted at least 48 hours in advance under the Open Meeting Law. The committee tentatively set its next meeting for the fourth Tuesday in January (Jan. 27). A motion to adjourn carried by roll call at 7:01 p.m.
"I'm willing to take that on," Mary Alexandra said after being nominated to chair the committee, and the new leadership will begin coordinating agendas and follow-ups with town staff.
