The Northborough–Southborough Regional School Committee on Nov. 19 approved its FY2027–2032 capital improvement plan and a set of FY27 budget priorities.
Administrators said the capital plan lists total capital expenditures of $477,000 and will be apportioned between the member communities under the regional agreement. The committee voted to approve the plan "as presented," with members indicating the document aligns planned capital spending to $450,000–$500,000 per year over the five-year window.
Committee members also voted unanimously to adopt the FY27 budget priorities as presented in the packet, which reflected feedback from the prior meeting and are intended to guide the superintendent's development of the preliminary budget. The chair opened the motions, members moved and seconded them, and both measures passed on voice vote.
Why it matters: the capital plan establishes the near-term schedule for building and systems work and the budget priorities will shape the district's preliminary FY27 budget, to be presented at the December meeting.
The committee's next budget milestone is the December meeting, when the preliminary budget will be presented for further review.
