Members asked for clearer descriptions and pipeline detail for other proposed change orders to improve transparency.
Design elements generated local debate: a clock proposed for the new station was estimated at around $20,000, while the training tower — justified as necessary for firefighter training — likely accounts for a substantially larger portion of construction cost and was described as likely to be 'more than half a million.' The committee also solicited commissioning services bids and recommended accepting a Colliers bid of about $49,000 for final building testing and commissioning, a figure well under the $150,000 line‑item budget for that scope.
The board asked the FSBC to include the FSBC summary in the record for public transparency and to provide more detailed PCO explanations in future reports.
