Historic District Commission sets new 4–7 p.m. window for old-business meetings

The Nantucket Historic District Commission announced at its Jan. 20 meeting that old-business sessions will run from 4 p.m. to no later than 7 p.m., beginning with the Jan. 27 meeting. Chair said the change is intended to allow the commission to conclude business earlier while still accommodating public meeting requirements.
Commission members and staff emphasized that meetings will end when business is finished but no later than 7 p.m., and that the change is aimed at balancing the commission’s workload and members’ schedules. Chair noted the rule will apply to “old business” meetings beginning Jan. 27.
The commission confirmed the schedule and closed the item; no formal vote to amend bylaws was recorded during the session. The board’s next meeting is scheduled for Jan. 27 in the new 4–7 p.m. old-business window.
