Councilmember Hines read a proclamation honoring the Denver Foundation’s 100th anniversary and designating Nov. 30, 2025, as the Denver Foundation Centennial Celebration Day in the City and County of Denver.
The proclamation recited the foundation’s history, including its founding in 1925, early gifts and grantmaking, student scholarship activity (Reisher Scholars program), and cited financial figures recounted in the text: more than $1,400,000,000 in assets, over $2,100,000,000 in contributions, and more than $1,500,000,000 in grants to nonprofits across Metro Denver. Hines highlighted local projects such as improvements at LaRasa Park and community days at the Denver Zoo and Denver Museum of Nature and Science.
Council moved to adopt the proclamation; the motion passed on a roll call vote (10 ayes). Javier So to, identified in the transcript as Denver Foundation President and CEO, accepted the proclamation, thanked the council and staff, and noted the foundation’s history of responding to emergencies and supporting local partners. "This means a great deal to us for you all to recognize us on our 1 hundredth birthday," he said, and described a $100,000,000 centennial endowment campaign to sustain the foundation into the next century.
Councilmembers offered congratulations and cited the foundation’s partnerships with city programs such as the Denver Immigrant Legal Services Fund and local neighborhood initiatives.
