Denver City Council on Monday voted to publish the mayor’s proposed 2026 budget for public inspection and to hold a public hearing on the proposal at the council’s regular meeting on Monday, Oct. 27, 2025, at 5:30 p.m.
Councilmember Gonzales Gutierrez moved the procedural measure, which directs the clerk and recorder to make the budget available for inspection from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, in the City Council Office (Room 451) at the City and County Building. The motion also said residents may inspect the budget before or at the public hearing and register any objections; the council will consider objections raised at the hearing.
The motion was seconded, put to a roll-call vote and approved with 11 ayes. Council members did not debate the substance of the mayor’s proposal during the motion; the action establishes the statutory inspection and notice steps required before final council consideration.
Next steps: the public hearing will be held Oct. 27 at 5:30 p.m.; members of the public may review the proposed budget in person at Room 451 during the published hours or at the hearing and may register objections to be considered by council.
