Summary
Council approved a cooperative purchase contract with CXT Inc. for a precast restroom at Main Street Park, a budgeted CIP item with a 180-day lead time; town utilities will provide water and sewer connections and APS will handle electric.
The Florence Town Council approved a cooperative purchasing contract with CXT Inc. for purchase and installation of a precast restroom at Main Street Park in an amount not to exceed $139,022.84.
Jared Tealley, administrative project manager, described the unit as a single-room precast concrete restroom roughly 120 square feet with selected upgrades including graffiti-resistant paint, stainless-steel fixtures and an external drinking fountain. Tealley said there is a 180-day lead time for manufacturing and shipping, after which a crane will place the unit on a prepared concrete pad.
Council members asked whether town staff would handle utility connections; Tealley answered that the town’s utilities crew will bring water and sewer to the site and APS will perform the final electrical connection. Council member Bedford asked about timing and Tealley said the town is planning for installation in the summer following the lead time.
Council moved and approved the contract on a motion by Council member Maldonado, seconded by Council member Bedford; the vote was taken by voice and council approved the purchase with no recorded opposition.
Next steps: staff will finalize the cooperative purchasing contract and begin site-preparation work so the restroom can be delivered and installed after the vendor’s lead time.
