The City of Texarkana Board of Directors voted to authorize the Texarkana Regional Airport director to auction off a list of aged and obsolete equipment and to allocate proceeds to a capital improvement line item for equipment replacement.
City attorney read the resolution aloud listing the equipment: a 1999 Chevrolet Silverado 2500, a 2008 GMC C1500, a 1990 John Deere tractor, a 2001 street sweeper, trailers, an arc welder, a box grader, auger attachments, a front-end loader, and assorted radios and parts. The resolution directs the airport director to conduct the auction using the same auction house the city uses and to place proceeds into the capital improvement fund.
A motion to adopt the resolution was made and seconded; the board approved the measure by roll-call vote. The city manager and finance staff said funds will be used for equipment replacement as part of the capital budget. No dissent was recorded.
