Council to consider awarding City Hall renovation contract to Westar Heidey

City staff recommended Huber Heights award the City Hall renovation contract to Westar Heidey of Sidney, Ohio, after five bidders responded to the solicitation.
Alex told the council staff completed due diligence and background checks and found Westar Heidey to be the "lowest and best" bidder. He said staff will ask the council on Monday to approve a resolution awarding the bid and to authorize the law director and city manager to finalize contract negotiations.
Staff expects construction to begin Feb. 1 and estimates a 395-day project schedule; furniture and the furniture package are not included in this resolution and will be addressed in a future action. Alex said staff used VR sessions with employees to refine interior selections and that the presentation packet contains renderings and color schemes.
Council members had no objections to moving the award to Monday’s meeting for formal consideration.
