City staff told Huber Heights council on Tuesday that staffing adjustments approved in the 2026 budget will be presented as ordinance on the January 12 meeting and that salary-range changes for non-bargaining staff will be discussed in executive session before formal action.
Katie Hill said the staffing amendments add three police officers (increasing patrol from 45 to 48), one dispatcher (15 to 16) and one public-works maintenance technician (21 to 22). "Tonight, this legislation is our staffing levels ... I'm recommending amendments to include the additional positions that were approved in the 2026 budget," she told the council.
Hill said salary ranges for non-bargaining employees will be reviewed in executive session; council agreed to hold that discussion in closed session and to move any resulting ordinance to Monday’s meeting for approval. During the same work session the council later voted 8–0 to enter executive session to discuss collective-bargaining matters and, after returning, added two collective-bargaining agreements (IAFF and AFSCME) to Monday’s agenda.
