A finance representative said he gathered financing quotes and recommended the council approve a capital-lease ordinance. Staff estimated annual payments of $72,864 over 10 years under the proposed financing. Council members asked technical questions about the lease start date and interest; staff explained the first payment would typically be due in the December following settlement, which can affect interest costs. By non‑objection, council agreed to move the ordinance to Monday for readings and potential approval to secure the discount.
Council emphasized that the consoles were already in the capital plan for 2026 and that this is a timing decision intended to save money by ordering early.
