Huber Heights proclaims special recognition for assistant city manager over new governance center

Mayor Jeff Gore read the proclamation, which credited Sorel's leadership for guiding the project through completion and supporting the transition of city operations into the new municipal facility. The proclamation described the governance center at 6151 Brant Pike as "an approximately $11,000,000 public investment" intended to consolidate city operations and enhance public access.
Sorel was noted to have begun service to the city in 2022 as a contractor to the planning department and was hired full time as assistant city manager on Aug. 12, 2024. The mayor and council commended Sorel's work and presented a plaque and a rendering of the building to the honoree.
The proclamation and recognition formalize the city's appreciation for staff leadership on a major capital project and were delivered during the council's regular meeting.
