CPS procurement: athletic-trainer renewal, ODP supply contract and identity system extension on committee agenda

Athletic training services: Navarro Morales presented a recommendation to authorize a second and final renewal agreement with ATI Holdings LLC to provide district-wide athletic training coverage. Morales said the Office of Sports Administration aims to maintain at least 25 athletic trainers and ensure consistent coverage during seasons and tournaments; board members sought historical spend detail and program performance data.
ODP (Office Depot): Patricia Hernandez, chief procurement officer, recommended a new three-year agreement with ODP Business Solutions for school supplies from March 1, 2026, through Feb. 28, 2029, with a not-to-exceed total of $25,000,000. Hernandez said the vendor offers district rebates and has previously donated to CPS philanthropic efforts; the contract includes MWBE goals (30% MBE, 7% WBE).
Identity and access management: Syed Khatri and the acting CIO described a proposed one-year extension with Carahsoft (RapidIdentity single sign-on and multifactor authentication) at a not-to-exceed $1,200,000, intended to ensure continuity while the district completes an RFP process for identity services.
Board members asked for additional performance metrics, participation counts, and follow-up materials; none of these procurement items were finalized in committee at this meeting.
