Administration outlines 17 strategic priorities; board seeks clearer objectives and outcomes

District administration walked the committee through a condensed, public‑facing version of a larger internal 'district priorities' document that lists 17 strategic initiatives and links each to internal action plans. Staff said the condensed slides summarize which priorities are in early stages and which are in implementation, and they asked the committee whether groups tied to particular priorities (for example, an AI task force or QCSD 2040 project) should be invited to present at committee or board meetings.

Board members pressed administrators to include explicit hypotheses, expected outcomes and measurement plans for each initiative so the district can determine what worked and what did not. "At the end of the day ... if we were trying 2 or 3 things, it's a little bit easier to say, well, this had an impact," one board member said, arguing that deeper context and attribution are needed across multiple efforts.

Staff responded that many priorities are at different stages (one‑, three‑ or five‑year timelines) and that principals have been assigned to take ownership on the committees for these priorities; staff offered to share internal action‑planning documents and to bring particular principals to present deeper updates upon the committee's request.
