Craig said the village recognizes the "outstanding educational efforts of the Illinois Holocaust Museum and Education Center" and urged residents to "promote human dignity and confront hate whenever and wherever it occurs."
The proclamation honored victims and survivors and called on residents to remember the "terrible events of the Holocaust" and reflect on the need for respect for all people. The mayor read the proclamation in full and dated it January 2026.
The proclamation was ceremonial; no formal vote was required. The board proceeded to other business after the reading.
