Chappaqua board adopts revised district safety plan and several policies, approves personnel and contracts

At its Jan. 14 meeting the Chappaqua Central School District Board of Education approved a slate of routine and substantive items, including the revised district-wide safety plan and several policy adoptions, and ratified personnel and contract recommendations.
A motion was made and seconded to adopt the revised 2025–26 district safety plan; the superintendent said the plan includes the cardiac-arrest insert required by New York State law. The board also conducted second readings and adopted policy 6085 (purchasing and bidding), policy 2005 (advisory committee), and policy 0100 (the district mission statement). The board approved recommended instructional (4.1) and non-instructional (4.2) personnel items, including tenure appointments to be recognized in June.
Using a consent agenda, the board approved items 5.1–5.12 covering donations (including several robotics donations), purchase orders, budget transfers and an SMOA stipend for Science Olympiad support. The board also acknowledged superintendent-approved contracts (6.1–6.3) and accepted facilities change orders attached to athletics-pavilion closeout work (7.1–7.5) and several financial reports (8.1–8.5).
Why it matters: Approval of the district safety plan and these policies is part of the district’s compliance and governance cycle; contract and change-order approvals move long-running construction and program work toward completion.
