BZA approves consent docket of routine variances; two cases moved for full hearing

The Cobb County Board of Zoning Appeals approved its consent docket at its Jan. 14 meeting, clearing a series of residential variance requests that staff had recommended for approval. The board voted 5–0 to adopt the consent agenda after the zoning manager read items including requests to alter impervious coverage, accessory-structure setbacks and accessory uses across multiple lots.
Board members and staff said those items had been reviewed in advance during the board’s work session and included staff comments or stipulations. Two cases were pulled from consent—V8 (Jennifer Palacek) and B21 (Fornez Carr)—after members of the public indicated opposition; those matters were moved to the regular agenda for separate hearings.
Approvals on consent permit applicants to leave the hearing without further testimony; board members confirmed they would vote on remaining consent items as a single motion. The motion to approve passed unanimously. Minutes and additional housekeeping items were later approved by the same vote and the meeting adjourned.
