Gulf County to advertise 5-acre tract sale and move to rescind a 6¢ ordinance

Staff said the advertisement has run and that sealed bids will be due on the 26th and opened on the 27th, after which staff will seek authority to negotiate a contract and finalize terms. The sale item was presented as informational and procedural; the board had previously authorized advertising.
Separately, staff said the county had earlier adopted an ordinance extending a 6¢ levy to 2039 in connection with a road bond and interlocal agreements, but that 'there's no need right now for that 6¢' and staff has advertised to rescind Ordinance 02/2004. Staff said the rescission will have a first reading on the 27th and leaves 14 years for successors to readdress the issue before it would otherwise sunset in 2039.
Commissioners asked clarifying questions about the interlocal agreement's term, which staff said ends in 2032, and staff noted upcoming legislative and agency meetings in Tallahassee.
