Barrington board approves consent agenda, appoints Jennifer McHugh to Cultural Commission

The Barrington Village Board approved a consent agenda during its Jan. 12, 2025 meeting that included an appointment to the Cultural Commission and several ordinances and procurement actions.

President Morant read the consent items into the record and the board placed the items on an omnibus vote. The items included a motion to appoint Jennifer McHugh to the Cultural Commission with a term expiring December 2029; a recommendation from the plan commission (PC-25-06) for the property at 222 South Cook Street; a zoning-board-of-appeals recommendation (ZBA 25-07) for the property at 652 South Huff Street; a resolution remanding a planning commission application for an amendment to a special use plan development for 222 South Cook Street; approval of a certificate of appropriateness (ARC 25-13) for 652 South Huff Street; an ordinance to purchase a 2025 Elgin Pelican NP street sweeper through Sourcewell; an ordinance authorizing a purchase order and contract with Curie Motors for a 2026 Ford Police Interceptor Utility AWD; and an ordinance authorizing a contract with Genesis 1 for printing services.

The board voted by roll call to approve the consent agenda. President Morant announced the omnibus approval, stating 'Consensus, Jan, is approved.' The meeting record shows trustees voting in the affirmative during the roll call.

The appointment of Jennifer McHugh was recorded on the consent agenda with the stated term ending December 2029. Other items recorded on the consent agenda reference specific plan and zoning files and procurement sources; the record does not include additional debate or amendments on those items.
