At its Jan. 14 meeting the Connecticut Appraisal Commission considered a string of individual licensing cases and CE-equivalency requests.
Joseph (Joe) Salvati (RSP 2067) told the panel he had completed required experience and several qualifying courses but still needed statistics/modeling/finance, advanced residential applications and subject-matter electives. Salvati confirmed he would complete required continuing education by Jan. 31; the commission voted to extend his qualifying-education window to April 30 on the condition he finish continuing education by Jan. 31, complete qualifying education by April 30, submit an experience log and be checked in monthly by staff.
Brian Mulready (introduced himself and his employer for the record) reported he was close to meeting the continuing-education requirement but had a proctoring issue for a five-hour exam associated with a 60-hour course (some public-library proctors declined to supervise a five‑hour sitting). Staff (Debbie) said she had reached out to the course provider (McKissick) for proctoring options and will follow up; commissioners advised finding an alternative proctor and requested an update at the next meeting.
The commission granted several CE equivalency requests: Gina Cambino was approved for 11 elective hours; Eric Lewis’s submission was discussed at length because some entries reflected the same program offered in two states and staff lacked an outline for a 13‑hour fall conference. Commissioners resolved to grant Lewis the 11 elective-hours maximum while asking staff to confirm documentation.
Separately, Eric Victor was noted to have a staff-issued administrative extension to March 31; he reported substantial progress (60 hours of coursework completed and a 30-hour class in progress). Commissioners asked him to return with a progress report in March rather than awarding another long extension immediately.
Joseph Del Toro requested permission to retake the PSI exam after PSI’s vendor rules blocked him from re-registering; commissioners approved Del Toro’s request and then voted to delegate to staff the procedural authority to grant similar PSI re-entry requests for other applicants who remain within their original six-year cycles, to avoid delays caused by vendor scheduling.
Several applicants whose files lacked full certificates were asked to provide complete documentation; staff will follow up and place items on the February agenda as needed.
