Two district buses returning from a senior trip were involved in a minor collision earlier the same day, Connetquot Superintendent Dr. Joseph Semler told the board on Jan. 13. No injuries were reported.
"No injuries at the time were reported," Semler said, adding nurses met the buses as they returned to the high school and that some families sought precautionary medical checks. The district said it will follow up with the contractor, Coachman Bus, on protocols and procedures.
Semler said he had sent communication to families of the twelfth‑grade students and that the trip had otherwise gone well. He thanked staff and volunteers and noted upcoming school events, including musical performances and a community feedback meeting on the district survey.
