Macedonia council elects Garbus president, Ferraro vice president and approves committee lineups

Macedonia City Council on the evening of its January meeting elected Mister Garbus president and Councilor Matt Ferraro vice president, with Ferraro also named finance chair. Councilor Brandt was appointed to the Parks and Recreation Commission. The votes were taken by roll call and carried with affirmative responses from the members present.
The council conducted nominations at the start of the meeting after circulating a draft of committee assignments during an earlier work session. Speaker 1 explained the four offices to be filled and said he wished to continue as president; Garbus was nominated and, after a roll call, confirmed. Ferraro was nominated and elected vice president and then nominated and elected to chair the finance committee. Brandt was nominated and elected to the parks and recreation commission.
Councilors discussed committee placements briefly at a prior work session and the mayor later moved to adopt the assignments. The motion to adopt committee assignments was seconded, carried on roll call and the assignments were approved.
The meeting continued with a public‑comment proclamation and a slate of legislative resolutions. The council also welcomed new member Sue Cummings during the invocation and roll call.
