City staff outline timeline for Guy Davis skate park permitting and construction

When asked by the vice mayor, city staff (speaker 5) said there were three pending items since the last July meeting: coordination with FP&L on pole relocation (redesign plans received and under review), completion of the stormwater/drainage report (submitted to the South Florida Water Management District earlier this month), and Spahn Ranch preparing plans after the stormwater report is finalized. Staff said FP&L relocation will occur prior to city construction and that their consultant is reviewing the redesign plans now.
Staff provided target dates: comments from the South Florida Water Management District were expected by Dec. 7 (portal date); staff hoped to respond by December and to have the permit issued by January in the best case. If the holidays cause delays, staff estimated comments and responses would be completed and permits issued by February or early March. They said they would advertise bids as soon as building permits are issued, with a hopeful target of May for bid advertisement and a potential construction start in late summer or early fall if reviews proceed on schedule.
The update emphasized that the timeline assumes no unexpected review issues and that holidays could extend the schedule. No formal vote or action was required at the meeting.
