The Lewiston Planning Board on Jan. 12 re-elected Shanna Cox as chair and selected Lucy Bisson as vice chair and Zoe Lindstrom as secretary, conducting roll-call votes that the chair said take effect immediately.
The actions came near the start of the board’s meeting. Cox opened nominations and accepted her nomination for another term; members then cast roll-call votes. The board then considered agenda item 3 and voted to adopt the board’s 2026 policies, procedures and protocols “on the record.” Those votes were recorded by roll call and placed on the record.
Board members said the formal roles help streamline routine work such as roll calls, minute review and vote tracking. The chair reminded members that full voting members are eligible to serve as officers and noted two associate vacancies on the board, encouraging residents to apply.
The board also moved to adopt the Dec. 22, 2025 draft minutes later in the meeting by roll-call vote before adjourning. The next scheduled public presentation relevant to the board is a police vehicle proposal at the council meeting on Jan. 20.
The board instructed staff to circulate the adopted policies and to include any follow-up memos requested by members. No amendments to the handbook were recorded during the vote; staff will carry the procedural items forward in meeting records.
