Missoula County commissioners appointed several candidates to the newly created Missoula Consolidated Land Use Board and accepted a conservation district nomination during the meeting.
Staff introduced the consolidated board and said applicants included members from the former Zoning Board of Adjustment and Planning Board. The tribal (CSKT) representative seat was not yet finalized; staff recommended naming alternates who could convert to full members if CSKT declined to fill the seat.
Commissioner (speaker 2) moved to appoint Andy Mefford, Rick Hall, Danny Oberweiser, Jennifer Schultz, Barbara Raley, Chris Sale and Mike Sedibandamy to the new board, and named alternates to serve until CSKT confirmed its representative. The board then approved the appointments by voice vote. Staff also presented a nomination for Josh Schroeder to serve as the conservation district representative to the consolidated board; commissioners moved, seconded and approved that nomination by voice vote.
Staff said final adjustments to alternate assignments will be made after CSKT’s decision and that remaining open slots will be filled as needed. Commissioners thanked staff and volunteers for their work in consolidating the boards and completing the application process.
The new Missoula Consolidated Land Use Board will take the place of several former bodies; staffing and alternate assignments may be finalized following CSKT’s appointment.
