The chair provided a budget estimate: the contract was described as roughly $21,702 annually, to be funded from multiple prosecutor/law-enforcement lines (including pretrial diversion and law-enforcement funds). The prosecutor intends to cover initial costs for the current year and expects the item to appear as an advertised additional appropriation on the February agenda so the council can consider multi-year budget impacts.
Council members asked staff to advertise the proposal through the Gateway/DLGF process and to provide a formal presentation in February when the prosecutor can attend and answer questions about operations, funding sources and the expected fiscal impact over the contract term.
