Coos County approves multiple contracts and hires for health, victim services and county staffing

Personnel approvals included hiring Bernadette Ireland as a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner to replace a departing clinician and granting a temporary $1,000 per‑month stipend (retroactive to Dec. 15, 2025) to assistant forester Cole Waddington while the forester is on medical leave. The board approved hiring Everardo Trujillo as a corrections deputy at step 6 and Rhianna Hicks as a deputy district attorney at step 3; presenters said the Hicks hire is cost‑neutral and draws on her experience at Josephine County.
The board also approved a tentative collective bargaining agreement with the Coos County chapter of the Federation of Parole and Probation Officers (retroactive to July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2027) and authorized a payroll resolution for back pay.
