Board approves Traffic Advisory Committee recommendations on speed limits and signage

Public commenters included residents who expressed skepticism about lane reductions and speed changes and a caller who urged careful posting and enforcement of speed-limit signs in specific corridors. Paul DeBold, a caller, cited a measured average speed of 39.55 mph on one segment and suggested some proposed changes were unnecessary.
The motion to adopt the committee's recommendations was moved and seconded and passed on a unanimous roll-call vote. The board asked staff to relay appreciation to the Traffic Advisory Committee and to proceed with implementation of the adopted signage and speed-limit changes.
Next steps: county staff will implement the approved signage and speed-limit changes and ensure changes are posted for enforcement.
