At their Jan. 15 meeting the commissioners approved a slate of routine resolutions—including purchase orders, travel expenses, and grant accounting changes—unanimously adopted a proclamation for Martin Luther King Jr. Day, and appointed Kimberly Mann to the county Board of Developmental Disabilities.
The Delaware County Board of Commissioners on Jan. 15 unanimously approved a series of routine resolutions, adopted a proclamation recognizing Martin Luther King Jr. Day and appointed Kimberly Mann to fill an unexpired term on the county Board of Developmental Disabilities.
Communications coordinator Eric Weitz told the board Michael Fulton had stepped down and "we're recommending the appointment of Kimberly Mann to fill that seat." Commissioners said they had interviewed Mann, praised her community involvement and voted to approve Resolution 26-23 appointing her.
The board approved multiple other measures by voice vote, including Resolution 26-18 (approval of the electronic record of the Jan. 12, 2026 meeting), Resolution 26-19 (authorization of purchase orders and payment of warrants in batch CMAPR0114 and memo transfers MTAPR0114), and Resolution 26-21 (travel expense requests). Finance staff also secured approval for Resolution 26-24 to establish a new organization number in the chart of accounts for the FY25 Urban County CDBG grant and for Resolution 26-25 to repost prior special assessment collections to the Scott lateral ditch project.
President Jeff Benton read the county's MLK Day proclamation as part of Resolution 26-22, saying the board would "renew our commitment to honoring Dr. King's famous dream" and encouraging residents to observe the holiday on Jan. 19, 2026. The proclamation was recorded as signed by Commissioners Benton, Lewis and Merrill.
Other routine administrative items approved by the board included Resolution 26-26 (a cash transfer from the clerk of court's auto title fund to the general fund to finance wage and benefit costs for one sheriff deputy assigned to the courthouse) and Resolution 26-27 (authorization of a procurement card for a new economic development employee). All listed resolutions on the agenda were approved by recorded 'Aye' votes from Commissioners Jeff Benton, Barb Lewis and Gary Merrill.
The meeting included no public comment before the board completed the listed agenda items.
