The Warrick County Solid Waste Management District board voted Jan. 15 to approve a construction agreement with Sims Electric for the district’s phase‑2 electrical upgrade, but the board required the contractor to deliver a completed performance bond packet before the president signs and engineering issues a notice to proceed. Kevin Allen, a representative from Aegis, told the board the signed contract and corporate resolution were in hand but the executed bond was still outstanding. “I would recommend that you, would vote to approve this pending delivery of the executed bond,” Allen said. Board counsel and staff said engineering had approved the contract terms that were included in the original RFP. The board adopted a motion that narrows approval: accept the agreement but withhold authorization to start work until the district receives the performance‑bond documentation; once those materials are received the board president is authorized to execute and engineering to issue the notice to proceed. The board approved the motion by voice vote. No roll‑call tally was recorded on the record.
