The Lake Stevens Civil Service Commission on Jan. 8 elected Ray Mitchell as chair and named Debbie Willis vice chair, then approved minutes from its Sept. 11, 2022 and Nov. 10 meetings.
Mitchell opened the meeting and conducted a roll call before commissioners moved to accept the Sept. 11 minutes; a motion was made, seconded and approved by voice vote. Commissioners later addressed the Nov. 10 minutes — one commissioner noted they were not present for that meeting — then again moved, seconded and approved the minutes by voice vote.
“Do I do I second that?” Mitchell asked during the officer nomination process, and after a second the commissioners voted “Aye” to elect Mitchell as chair and Willis as vice chair.
The actions recorded in the transcript are procedural votes by voice; the record does not include a roll-call tally listing which commissioners voted for each motion. The meeting proceeded to a staffing and recruiting update and other administrative items and then adjourned.
