MARION COUNTY, Ore. — The Marion County Board of Commissioners on Wednesday approved its consent agenda, appointing Kevin Cameron to the Materials Management Advisory Council and approving procurement and juvenile services contracts.
Unidentified Speaker 1, a board member, moved to approve the consent agenda, naming three items: an order appointing Kevin Cameron to the Materials Management Advisory Council and naming him MMAC chair; a special procurement to establish a contract with JB Oregon for support and maintenance of the county's specialized heating and cooling systems; and an intergovernmental agreement with the Oregon Youth Authority (OYA) not to exceed $239,151.63 for processing expunged youth records, retroactive to Jan. 1, 2026, through Dec. 31, 2027. "Mister chair, I move to approve the consent agenda," Unidentified Speaker 1 said when introducing the motion.
Unidentified Speaker 2, the presiding official, seconded the motion. County staff (Unidentified Speaker 3) interrupted to correct term dates published on the agenda, saying the correct appointment term for Kevin Cameron is through Jan. 14, 2030 and the chair appointment is through Jan. 14, 2027 per the Materials Management Advisory Council bylaws. The board amended the motion to reflect the corrected dates before voting.
Unidentified Speaker 2 called for the vote and recorded voice votes of 'aye' from those present; the consent agenda passed. The approved OYA agreement is limited to processing expunged youth records and is capped at $239,151.63 for the stated retroactive and contract period.
