Upper Dublin board approves 2026–27 calendar, personnel moves and routine committee recommendations

The Upper Dublin School District Board of School Directors on Dec. 15 approved the 2026–27 school calendar, a slate of finance and personnel committee recommendations, and several routine agreements during its legislative meeting.
In a motion from Education Chair Mr. Held, the board approved the calendar that recommends a first day of school on Aug. 31, 2026, and a last day on June 15, 2027; the schedule includes three inclement-weather days that could shorten the year if unused. The motion passed by voice vote.
Finance Chair Mr. Sirota moved to approve six finance items (items a–f), which the board approved by voice vote; the agenda materials noted that the first five had been discussed at the finance committee meeting the previous week and the sixth item comprised regular monthly payments.
The personnel committee, led by Miss Redding, moved to approve the personnel report and to create a position for an educational assistant; the board approved both items. Following the personnel vote, the board welcomed Dr. Tracy Lenk, the recommended candidate for director of student services. Dr. Lenk, present at the meeting, said she is "looking forward to transitioning to Upper Dublin."
The board also approved a pupil-services agreement described in the meeting attachments and voted to adopt the board's legislative meeting dates for the coming board term so they can be published on the district calendar.
Several policy items were presented for first reading, including a clerical renumbering, the regular review of specified policies, and a proposed consolidated conflicts-of-interest policy that would combine two prior policies; Miss Evans said second reading and formal action will occur at the January legislative meeting.
The meeting included a routine solicitor's report noting one recent executive session to discuss personnel matters. The board adjourned with holiday greetings to the community.
