District outlines phased strategic-plan timeline, with community input guiding priorities

Rountree said the current phase (domain 2) focuses on data analysis and synthesizing stakeholder insights into themes and priority outcomes that will form initial goals by May. He emphasized that the district’s work over the next months is intended to ensure organizational readiness — defining necessary actions, clarifying ownership, aligning resources and building internal capacity — before launching new academic initiatives.
Rountree told the board that participation in early engagement reached record levels compared with prior planning efforts and that subsequent steps include action-team meetings and goal-area work. He said the district does not intend to introduce new academic initiatives for 2026; instead, it will strengthen and master initiatives already in place while preparing for the implementation phase.
Board members generally endorsed the approach, noting the connection between the strategic plan and other district priorities such as literacy and instructional frameworks. Rountree said the district will continue to provide updates and will return to the board as phases are completed and decisions are ready for consideration.
