Commissioners approve abandonment of a small access easement at Lyon County government complex parcel

By a 5-0 vote the board approved abandonment of approximately 2,752 square feet of public-access easement (formerly Town Center Drive) on APN 01640619 at 1033 Crossing Avenue to clean up the county government-complex parcel.
The Lyon County Board of County Commissioners approved a staff-initiated abandonment of a portion of a public-access easement within the Lyon County Government Complex parcel.
Community Development Director Gavin Henderson presented the staff report, map exhibits and the rationale that the indicated public-access easement overlapped the building footprint and front parking area and should be removed from the recorded map to finalize the subdivision map for the complex (SEG 2161-2171, SEG 2196-2203). The parcel is shown on land map number 410284, APN 01640619, and the proposed abandoned area is approximately 2,752 square feet.
After brief clarification that no utilities run through the parcel segment at issue, Commissioner Jacobson moved approval; Commissioner Casanelli seconded, and the motion passed 5-0.
The easement abandonment will be recorded with the final commercial subdivision map and will not change other access points identified on the finalized exhibit.
