The Kingsford Heights Town Council approved Ordinance 2026-002 on Jan. 12, amending the salary ordinance to raise the top of the pay range for the deputy clerk-treasurer, assistant office manager and bookkeeper to $22.00 per hour. Council read the ordinance in full and carried the motion through first, second and third readings during the meeting.
The ordinance language specifies the amendment is effective retroactively to Jan. 1, 2026. Councilors said the increase corrects an earlier low top-of-scale number and will be reflected in payroll as required. The motion carried unanimously on voice votes recorded during the meeting; councilors also indicated they could proceed immediately with second and third readings because the vote was unanimous.
Town staff were asked to update payroll and budget encumbrances to reflect the change and to confirm retroactive payments as necessary.
