Department reviews December 2025 calls, arrests and traffic statistics

Commission staff presented operational statistics for December 2025 at the Police Civil Service Commission meeting on Jan. 14.
The department reported 2,973 calls for service in December, 252 fewer than November. Case reports totaled 238, down by 149 from the prior month. Shots-fired calls were listed as 19 (12 fewer than November). The presenter said arrests totaled in the mid-150s with juveniles included; traffic stops rose to 388, an increase of 82, and citations increased to 311 (210 more than November). The presenter attributed part of the rise in citations to site awards and NDT-related enforcement activity.
Firearms and stolen firearms were also noted: six firearms seized and seven firearms recovered that had been reported stolen. Flock camera use for investigations was cited at 16 incidents.
The presenter characterized December as a successful month overall for holiday patrol operations, with retail-assist and parking enforcement noted. No formal policy changes or budget actions were recorded during the presentation.
What’s next: staff will continue monthly reporting; commissioners did not request additional formal actions during the meeting.
