Commission approves $250 donation to Black History Month committee

The Michigan City Commission on the Social Status of African American Males approved a $250 donation to the city’s Black History Month Committee during its Jan. 14 meeting.
Commissioner Moore moved to submit the $250 contribution to the committee; a second was voiced and the commission voted by voice in favor. The Chair earlier reported the city had issued a separate $250 check to the Salvation Army and that it had been sent.
The action was taken during the Social Factors subcommittee portion of the meeting. No conditions or amendments were recorded, and the item will be reflected in the next treasurer’s report once that document is available.
The commission also approved the minutes from its December meeting at the start of the session.
