Kevin McCoy, the City of Auburn’s graphic designer, told the Auburn on Main podcast that he will depart the communications team in about three weeks after three years on staff. "In 21 days," he said on the program, and hosts exchanged appreciation for his work and contributions to city publications and events.
McCoy highlighted projects he said he is most proud of, including work on the Auburn Magazine, Auburn at Play and the Postmark project. He described a collaborative process with multiple departments and said the latest run of Auburn Magazine is mailed to about 37,000 households. "I've left a mark," he said, reflecting on logos, branding and the State of the City materials he has produced.
Jonathan Weber and other hosts described the graphic-design role as integral to city communications — from magazines and event materials to social posts and annual reports — and encouraged applicants for the communications/graphic-design position. The podcast closed with staff well-wishes and a reminder to watch for job postings; no personnel process details or hiring deadlines were given on-air.
